Manuel has been investing globally in retail and  commerce tech since 2018 with Bright Pixel, the VC arm Sonae, with a portfolio of over 70 companies. He primarily focuses on Series A and B rounds, usually taking board positions, and has led investments in companies such as Keychain, Ometria, Hamonya, Citcon, CB4, and Mayan.

Before becoming an investor, Manuel held leadership roles in two VC-backed software companies. He began his career as a management consultant and holds a degree in Economics, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
