Apply for Startup Pitch

Groceryshop Startup Pitch features 12 early stage companies with pioneering technologies and business models. These companies will compete for two $10,000 prizes. Each company will have four minutes to pitch and three minutes for Q&A with a panel of investors. Two winners will be selected: one by our panel of investors and the other by audience vote.

Contestants are selected based on a range of criteria, including:

  • Stage: We feature solutions that are entirely new to the market. At a minimum, we require that the startup has a working prototype which has been through a successful pilot with a few credible clients. We typically feature companies founded in the last four years and that have raised under $2 million in funding.
  • Solution: We look for solutions that address a major problem in retail or ecommerce, are unique in their approach to solving that problem, and have the ability to scale.
  • Fit: The overall agenda and attendee profile also informs our selection--we feature companies that are likely to be of interest to the Groceryshop audience. Moreover, a startup can only compete in one Startup Pitch at either Groceryshop; Pitch alums are not eligible for future competitions.

All Startup Pitch contestants must also purchase a space in the Startup Area, located in the center of Groceryshop’s Exhibit Hall. We require this so that you can benefit from significant onsite exposure and so that Groceryshop attendees can engage with you to learn more about your company. This results in an overall better experience for everyone. Please note that this is not pay-to-play (startup exhibitors are not eligible for Startup Pitch simply because they paid to exhibit). The cost for the pre-built startup space is $4,200, which includes a ticket for the Startup Pitch presenter and one additional ticket.
