Better Food Ventures

Rob Trice leverages years in global telecom/internet venture investing to apply information technology to food/ag challenges. In 2014 he founded the Mixing Bowl to connect food, ag and tech innovators for thought and action leadership and Better Food Ventures to invest in companies applying IT across the food and agriculture sectors. For nearly 15 years Rob worked in global telecom, mobile and internet venture capital with Swisscom Ventures, SK Telecom Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners/NGP and Nokia Venture Partners/BlueRun Ventures. Prior to working in venture capital, he worked at DIRECTV in LA and Tokyo. He also worked at a D.C.-based think tank, the Center for Strategic & International Studies. He holds a M.A. from George Mason University and a B.A. from the University of Virginia. He founded the non-profit Corporate Innovators Huddle; co-founded the Service Provider Investment Forum (now the Telecom Council); chairs SF-based non-profit Full Circle Fund; is an Advisor to the Dean of Cal Poly’s College of Ag, Food & Environmental Sciences, the UC Davis Innovation Institute for Food & Health, US Farmers & Ranchers Alliance, the Foundation for Food & Ag Research’s AgMission, the Food for Climate League and the MISTA food innovation platform. He is also a member of the Farm Foundation’s Program Committee. He launched Net Impact’s Silicon Valley professional chapter (2004) and co-launched the United Way of Silicon Valley’s Young Leaders United (2002). He splits his time between Menlo Park and Pescadero, CA.
