Matt is a retail strategy and operations expert with over 23 years of experience, focused on the food & drug sector. He advises clients on growth, transformation, and turnaround, from strategy to execution – with a focus on driving significant enterprise value improvements. Matt co-leads AlixPartners' food/ drug/ mass/ club practice.

He has expertise in a broad range of areas, including merchandising/category management (pricing & promotions, assortment, space allocation, COGS), Freshness and shrink, operations (store labor, shelf availability, customer experience and omnichannel), marketing (loyalty, targeted offers/ analytics), format and footprint strategy (format design, physical footprint evolution), and M&A/ transaction support.
