Debra Aho Williamson leads Insider Intelligence’s research on social media marketing, advertising, and usage. She regularly appears on Bloomberg Television and in major media publications for her expertise on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, and emerging social platforms. She is also a regular guest on the Insider Intelligence podcast “Behind the Numbers.”

Debra’s passion for researching social media was sparked when she wrote a report about college students and their changing communications patterns. She was among the first analysts to pinpoint the social media trend and she developed one of the earliest forecasts for social platform ad revenues. Debra has researched social media extensively—and exclusively—for more than 15 years.

Debra’s speaking engagements include presentations to the Association of National Advertisers, Advertising Age, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), and The Drum.

Debra is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Northwestern University, where she studied English Literature and oboe performance. Although she packed her oboe away many years ago, she still counts Joseph Conrad as one of her favorite authors.
